Ottawa Public Health says it has reached its original target and vaccinated more than 40 per cent of the city's population against the H1N1 virus.
Dr. Vera Etches, Ottawa's associate medical officer of health, said the city is nearing the end of the second wave
of the virus, but she said the work isn’t over yet.
“We’d like to see closer to 70 per cent by the end of the year,” Etches said.
“As people come home for the holidays and are mixing, there’s good reason to protect themselves from infection with the influenza virus."
